Variations in Layers

313아트프로젝트에서 열리는 2인전 《Variations in Layers》에서 박주언과 SID Lee는 시간·감각·감정·공간을 서로 다른 회화적 언어로 탐구한다. 박주언은 반복적 제스처와 그리드, 투명한 레이어의 중첩을 통해 시간의 흐름과 그 미묘한 차이를 화면에 축적하며, 규칙과 즉흥이 맞부딪히는 지점을 시각화한다. 한 화면 안에서 시간성이 드러나는 과정을 중시하는 그의 작업은 층위의 변화가 만드는 리듬을 보여준다. SID Lee는 숲을 모티프로 감정의 근원을 더듬고, 반복적·리드미컬한 붓질과 보색·동색의 조합으로 관객이 감각적으로 몰입할 수 있는 공간을 만든다. 추상과 구상의 경계에서 환기되는 순간을 포착하려는 그의 회화는 감정의 흔적을 층위 속에 머물게 한다.

At 313 Art Project in Seoul, the two-person exhibition Variations in Layers brings together Park Jueon and SID Lee, who each probe time, sensation, emotion, and space through distinct painterly languages. Park Jueon layers repetitive gestures, grids, and transparent veils to accumulate the flow of time and its subtle variations on the picture plane, visualizing the point where rule and improvisation meet and allowing temporality to surface within a single field. SID Lee, taking the forest as a motif, traces the sources of emotion; through repetitive, rhythmic brushwork and combinations of complementary and analogous hues, he creates spaces for sensory immersion. Working on the threshold between abstraction and figuration, his paintings seek to capture the moment when feeling is summoned and held within layered fields.
