In collaboration with the House of Dior, 313 Art Project participated in <Esprit Dior> and presented the works of Kiwon Park, Heryun Kim, Seonghi Bahk, and Dongyoo Kim. The exhibition was held at Seoul Dongdaemoon Design Plaza (DDP) from June 20th to August 25th, 2015. By putting the artists’ works in the wider context of fashion, photography, and drawings, the exhibition conveyed innovation of the House of Dior by illustrating its history and close relationship with the arts.
The participating artists offered different artistic interpretations of Dior in their own visual languages using associations or hommage. With its strong foundation in the arts, Dior became not only fashion but also cultural icon. Through collaborating with Korean artists at the center of the Asian contemporary art scene, the House of Dior highlighted its artistic and cultural influence.
While Maison Dior’s exhibition, Esprit Dior, took place in DDP (Dongdaemun Design Plaza) from June 20th to August 25th, the Dior boutique in Cheongdam held an exhibition titled Lady Dior — As Seen By. Three Korean artists, Youkyeong Oh, Jungpyo Hong and Seonghi Bahk contemplated the form, pattern, and history of Lady Dior, an iconic bag of the Maison, and presented their artistic interpretations of the bag.
313아트프로젝트는 크리스챤 디올과의 협업 아래 <에스프리 디올 – 디올 정신>에 참여하여 박기원, 김혜련, 박선기, 김동유의 작업을 선보였다. 전시는 2015년 6월 20일부터 8월 25일까지 서울 동대문 디자인 플라자 (DDP)에서 열렸다.전시는 시각예술 작가들의 작품을 하나의 큰 흐름으로, 패션을 포함 사진과 드로잉, 그리고 예술계와의 긴밀한 관계를 보여주는 여러 자료로 구성되어, 브랜드의 지난 역사를 재조명하고 디올 하우스의 끊임없는 현대성을 표현하였다.
전시에 참여한 작가들은 연상 또는 오마주의 형태를 이용하여 디올에 대한 다양한 예술적 해석을 제시하며, 이를 작가 고유의 시각적 언어로 구현하였다. 문화예술과의 확고한 유대감에 기반을 두어, 패션을 넘어서 하나의 문화 아이콘이 된 크리스챤 디올은 아시아 현대미술의 중심에서 활동 중인 한국 작가들과의 이번 협업을 통해 꾸뛰르가 가진 문화적 측면을 한층 더 부각시켰다.
‹에스프리 디올 – 디올 정신› 전시 기간 중 Lady Dior — As Seen By 프로젝트에 참여한 오유경, 홍정표, 박선기 작가의 작품이 청담동 디올 부띠끄, ‘하우스 오브 디올’ 내부 갤러리에서 전시되었다. 작가들은 크리스챤 디올의 대표적인 핸드백, 레이디 디올을 자신만의 관점에서 재해석하고, 가방의 형태와 패턴 그리고 역사 등을 종합적으로 고려하여, 이를 작가 본연의 시각적 표현으로 나타내었다.
